Our essence is the True Self, Divine Existence. The stirrings of the mind cover This. All of our spiritual disciplines are for eliminating these stirrings.

Regardless of how many sacred scriptures one reads, one cannot attain Enlightenment! No matter how many mantras one recites, one cannot attain Enlightenment! When all of these cease in perfect Silence, then one will indeed attain Enlightenment. Be still and know that I am God. That is Nirvava.
