Translation of Shri Mahayogi’s words during a satsangha in New York

Q: If we have to find eternal life in this life, why are we to die in this life? Is there any way to not die?
Master: Yes. It is said that there is a way in which you do not need to die. Now…there is the path called the sushumna that passes through the core of the body… [It is achieved] by pulling up the prana into it and raising it up to the crown of the head, or by staking your life on service [to others] with burning devotion.
Q: What does that mean?
Master: It means that you are not living within man but you are living within God. At that time, you will know that all of life, and the world itself, are manifestations of God.
Q: It sounds like realizing the illusion of life and living it fully, as it were, again?
Master: That’s right.
