The Spiritual Master —The Guru
The Guidance from The Guru

To disciples must first hear the Truth, then constantly reflect and meditate on It. They must practically apply what they learn. These actions, considered in the light of the guru's teaching, transform a disciple's thinking, ideas and values cultivated throughout his/her life.

Checking each thought, speech, and deed against the guru's teachings, disciples will recognize the issues and problems that trouble the mind and thus promptly clear away any wrong thinking and views not based upon the Truth. Through the teaching of Enlightened Ones, the causes of ignorance are removed.

The guru guides each disciple according to the disciple's individual inclination, personality, and situation. The guidance encompasses the very foundation of the Truth all the way to the myriad facets of daily life. There is no set teaching, but rather, a disciple learns intuitively in their own capacity from the words and actions of the Master. This is why it is important to have a guru — His guidance is priceless and cannot be learned from reading books.

It is not because the guru bestows teachings that a disciple loves the guru; it is because the Guru is the Truth itself that a disciple cannot help but to love him. The guru is the only example of the Absolute Brahman (God) manifesting in this world.

To see the guru is to see Brahman. Even if a seeker meets a True Master only once, he will surely be lead to the Truth. The teaching bestowed upon a disciple by the master is everlasting. The mind of a disciple will be filled with the Guru — the Truth. He is infinite love, a boundless ocean of mercy. The Guru is without any selfish desires. His only wish is to lead disciples to the Truth. The disciples share the same and dedicate their all to the guru, the Truth. There is only Truth — only Love — between them.
